Evansville Store Expecting 8,000 Eclipse Glasses by Friday

Just days away from the great eclipse... And Tri-Staters are having a tough time finding a pair of glasses.

 

Stores are selling out within minutes. One evansville store expecting a shipment of thousands of glasses friday... And reserving pairs yesterday and today.

 

Once the word got out nick nackery was selling glasses, it spread like wild fire.

 

You used to be able to find them in most stores.

 

But now it's a mad hunt to find eclipse glasses.

 

“At one point, we just had to put them on hold so we could all just take a break get a drink of water,” says one worker at Nick Nackery.

 

Those that do have them, are a rare find.

 

But the management at Nick Nackery in Evansville say they are expecting a shipment of 8,000 pairs on Friday.

 

Creating a long list, reserving 3,500 pairs as of late this morning with a long waiting list. And as of today, they’re not limiting the number of glasses per individual.

 

“I will work with my people to do the best I can do to get as many people glasses as I can possibly get,” says Nick Nackery owner Suzy Blesch.

 

Saving 2,000 pairs for walk ups on Friday.

 

If you do plan to snag a pair then, make sure you have time blocked out.

 

“Patience. Don't expect to come in on your lunch hour and get in and out in 5 minutes. It won't happen,” says Blesch.

 

Confirming the glasses are on NASA’s list of approved list.
