After five years of planning, the Evansville Wartime Museum hosts its grand opening celebration on Saturday just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The museum, located by Evansville Regional Airport, honors the city's role during WWII.
Veterans got a preview before the doors opened to the general public so they were able to be with other vets the first time they saw the exhibits.
While hundreds showed up on Saturday, staff says they hope to continue to grow by adding more exhibits and are looking for people to donate any items to put on display.
