After years of planning, the ribbon was finally cut on a tribute to the rich history and role Evansville played in the World War II war effort.
The Evansville Wartime Museum had a soft opening on Friday morning.
The museum allowed the first tours of the facility on Petersburg Rd.
It honors the thousands of men and women involved in World War II.
Museum officials have collected artifacts and relics for the last several years.
The museum will officially open Saturday morning at 9. The first 90 minutes will be for veterans only.
The general public may enter starting at 10:30 a.m.
