EVSC Students Visiting Disney World as Part of 'Cops Connecting with Kids Program'

Four dozen EVSC students and local law enforcement are getting to experience the magic of Disney.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Deputies, Evansville Police Officers, teachers, and 48 students arrived at Disney World early Thursday morning for the first day of a four-day trip.

The students come from Glenwood, Cedar Hall, and McGary Schools.

They're visiting Disney as part of the Cops Connecting with Kids Program.

The kids were selected to go on this trip because of their excellence in and out of the classroom.

While the kids were excited to hop on the rides and meet their favorite characters, many of them have struck up friendships with the officers.

Donations of more than $60,000 made the trip possible. Eyewitness News' Jordan Vandenberge is there documenting the trip.
