Fireworks Celebrations Around the Tri-State

This weekend will kick off the Independence Day holiday with plenty of activities going on around the Tri-State.

Firework shows start on Saturday.


Historic Newburgh

The Historic Newburgh Fireworks and Celebration in the Park will start at 4 p.m.

Thunder Over Patoka

Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. on Patoka Lake.

Mount Vernon

The Lion's Club will be putting on a fireworks show starting at dusk in River Bend Park.

Festivities start around 6 p.m. on Riverside Dr. with food vendors selling hamburgers, hotdogs, polish sausage, chicken and steak fajitas, BBQ nachos, kettle corn, ice cream, lemon shake-ups, and more.

The 25-minute fireworks display will start at 9 p.m.

Spectators can tune into 104.1 WIKY to hear a mix of contemporary and patriotic music in harmony with the fireworks display.

The celebration is free to attend.

The fireworks could be delayed or rescheduled in the event of severe weather.

The city will put on its largest fireworks display for the city's bicentennial starting at 9:15 p.m.

New Harmony

New Harmony will host its reading of the Declaration of Independence, a flag ceremony, and a golf cart parade starting at 10 a.m. in Maclure Park.
