Fix for 41 a bumpy ride for some

INDOT says the bumpy ride will get smoother

The first phase of INDOT's Fix for 41 Project promised a smooth ride across the southbound Twin Bridge, but that hasn't been the experience for all Tri-State drivers.

Some drivers said the expansion joints on the southbound bridge make the drive a little bumpy.

The joints allow the bridge to contract in the winter and expand in the summer.

Michael Duran said he drives across the bridge everyday and has seen improvement.

“It seems to be opened up, moving smooth, and I know some say it's a little bumpy, but I really don't. I just think it's a lot smoother than what it was,” said Duran.

INDOT said the joints will fill with debris over time making the drive a little smoother.
