Former Boston Police Commissioner Shares his Experience

He was at the forefront of the emergency response to the Boston marathon bombing. On Thursday night, he shared his experience here in the Tri-State.

Former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis was the guest speaker of the University of Evansville's Patricia Snyder Lecture.

He led the department during the Boston marathon attack back in 2013.

Davis said he was in Las Vegas last week during the deadly shooting, staying in a hotel a few miles from the attack.

He praised law enforcement for how they responded -

"They clearly had a plan. They had strike force units right across the strips to protect the other hotels. And that same form we had with the marathon was being experienced in Las Vegas."

Davis' experience during the Boston marathon bombings was depicted in the film "Patriots Day" with John Goodman as Commissioner Davis.
