Former Executive Director at Hopkins Co. Advocacy Center Accused of Forgery

On Friday, Amanda Hargis was arrested on theft and forgery charges.

The arrest followed what Madisonville Police called a lengthy investigation.

According to police, Hargis was the executive director of the Family Advocacy Center of Hopkins County from 2009-2016 when it closed its doors due to financial collapse.

Hargis faces the following charges:

Three counts of failure to make required disposition (over $500)

One count of failure to make required disposition (over $10,000)

11 counts of 2nd degree forgery
