Former Morganfield Police Chief Caught with Cell Phone in Jail

The former chief of the Morganfield Police Department is in more trouble a day after he was sentenced for abusing public trust.

Union County Detention Center Jailer Shawn Elder says Craig Bolds was caught with a cell phone in his jail cell on Tuesday.

It was found after a deputy went to check on him in his cell which caused him to be startled and drop the phone. Elder says Bolds faces promoting contraband charges.

On Tuesday, Bolds was sentenced to three years in prison for abuse of public trust and theft charges.
