Frenchburg man arrested for possession after traffic stop

On Thursday evening, shortly before 6, Jasper Police stopped a car at 5th and Main in Jasper, for failing to indicate a turn using signals.

During the stop, officers say they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Floyd Sikes of Frenchburg, Kentucky.

Officers say a K-9 indicated there was marijuana in the vehicle.

Upon searching the car, police say they found 3 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe.

Sikes' car was impounded, and he was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Sikes was lodged in the Dubois County Jail, but has since bonded out.
