Fundraiser Held for Honor Flight Coming in October

If you looked in the sky on Saturday, you may have caught a glimpse of jets flying above you.

Evansville RC Model Aircraft Club hosted a fundraiser for its upcoming Honor Flight in October.

Many model airplanes took to the sky.

From jets soaring in the air after the national anthem, to a presentation of fallen soldiers of war, many showed up to the event to raise money in order to send veterans on a once in a lifetime trip.

Also honored at the event was Allen Sanderson who flew a P-47 fighter plane during WWII.

While those planes were made in Evansville during the 40s, Saturday Allen received a smaller replica of his famous plane.
