German Delegates Visit Evansville

It is an opportunity to showcase the city of Evansville to international leaders. A delegation from Evansville's sister city in Germany is in town to tour the city for the next three days.

Eighteen officials from Osnabruck Germany including the Mayor landed at Evansville Regional Airport Monday.

Mayor Winnecke will be showing them all of the developments happening in the city along with business and educational institutions.

The delegation was taken to the new Double Tree by Hilton hotel downtown where they are staying and then walked to the Old National Bank for dinner.

Many members of the delegation say they are excited to see what Evansville has to offer.

"They are coming to Evansville at a really unique time in its history." said Mayor Lloyd Winnecke" we have a lot of growth and perhaps an unprecedented amount of growth, so we have a lot to show off and I am anxious to hear what they have to say about our city because many will be first time visitors."

Some of the delegates also said they were anxious to see the political climate in America since President Trump took office.

The Mayor says a great asset of this partnership is the exchange student programs available between the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Osnabruck in Germany.
