Gov. Rauner Visits Crossville to Survey Tornado Damage

White County, Illinois was one of the areas hit hardest by Tuesday night's storms. The National Weather Service says it was at least an EF-3 twister that hit near the community of Crossville. Thursday, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner is visiting the community to survey the damage and thank first responders.

Authorities found the body of Tom McCord early Wednesday morning near Crossville. So far, he is the only confirmed fatality in the Tri-State.

A group of women came together Wednesday at Crossville Village Hall.

It's central point for collecting food and supplies.

Gov. Rauner's Visit

Gov. Rauner met with some of the victims of the tornado on Thursday.

The governor spoke with the widow of Tom McCord during his visit.

The governor also saw volunteers helping clean up debris.
