Having Fun Earning Badges at Day Camp

Hundreds of local cub scouts took advantage of the great weather this week.

The Buffalo Trace Council Boy Scouts held its annual Cub Scout Day Camp.
It's three fun filled days all based around a central theme. This year, the theme was weird science.

“They're making arm pit fudge and solar oven smores, they're learning how to build circuits and cub-powered electricity... um, ice cream in a bag, they're learning different chemistry experiments. We have the sheriff's department here going over fingerprints and how that works. We have BB guns and archery,” said day camp director Heather Barnett.

The cub scouts earned pins and badges.

It was all made possible with the help of siblings, parents and more than a thousand volunteer hours.
