IceMen Officially Moving to Jacksonville

As Eyewitness News first reported in January, the former Evansville IceMen hockey team is making a move to Florida.

The team announced on Wednesday that it will start playing in Jacksonville starting in October.

The team left the Ford Center after the 2015/16 season following a dispute with city officials over their lease.

The team's owner Ron Geary attempted to move the team to Owensboro, but the team failed to find a facility to play in.

In a statement released by the ECHL, Geary says the move to Jacksonville is “a natural fit.”
