IN Governor Holcomb Signs Public Safety Bills

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb ceremonially signed two bills on Thursday to help law enforcement and domestic violence victims.

The two bills are sponsored by State Representative Wendy McNamara of Evansville who attended Thursday's signing in Indianapolis.

One bill calls for individuals charged with a felony to give cheek swab DNA samples.

The other measure will allow victims of domestic abuse to legally separate their cell phone plan from the abuser.

Both laws go into effect July 1.
