Indiana city leaders meet in Evansville for AIM Ideas Summit

City leaders from all over Indiana are in Evansville over the next few days.

The event called the AIM Ideas Summit is in Evansville for the first time since 2007.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke is serving as president for this year's event.

Winnecke will meet with other Indiana mayors, sharing ideas and discussing what works and doesn't for other cities.

He also has the responsibility of ensuring meetings move along quickly, as there are more than 800 leaders in town for the event.

"Here's the reality: The problems that Evansville has, Indianapolis has, and Huntingburg has, and Whiting has, and Terre Haute has, so they're very similar problems, so we look for solutions that are scalable, depending on our community's size,” said Mayor Winnecke.

Meetings will take place over the next few days at the Old National Events Plaza and DoubleTree Hotel.

Governor Eric Holcomb will be at the conference Thursday.

Mayor Winnecke will conduct a question and answer session with him.
