Jeffrey Weisheit's Appeal Hearing Scheduled for Thursday

Indiana's high court will hear arguments on Thursday from convicted child murderer Jeffrey Weisheit.

Weisheit has been on death row since 2013. A Clark County jury convicted him on two counts of murder and one count of arson.

Weisheit was sentenced to death in the killings of his girlfriend's two children, Alyssa and Caleb Lynch, in 2010. His convictions and death sentence have already been affirmed on direct appeal.

But Weisheit is now appealing to the Indiana State Supreme Court, arguing that he was deprived of effective counsel on both the trial and appellate court level.

Weisheit's hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. CST.
