Kenergy Customers Plan Meeting to Discuss High Bills

Kenergy customers in Henderson are complaining of excessively high bills for the past few months, and now some lawmakers are requesting state officials  look into it.

A letter sent to the Kentucky Public Service Commission by State Senator Dorsey Ridley and Representatives Robby Mills and Suzanne Miles, asking commissioners to look into the cause behind what they call "shocking increases in monthly bills."

Eyewitness News has been following the complaints. In January, customers say they experienced Kenergy bills $200 higher than normal. Kenergy says the hikes stem from winter weather and depletion of a credit fund to offset a 2014 increase.

Some unhappy customers are planning a meeting on Wednesday evening to develop a plan to fight the hike. It's scheduled to be from 5 p.m. 8 the Henderson County Fairgrounds Arena Concession Building. People planning to attend are asked to bring their February billing.
