Law Enforcement "Raids" Owensboro Dunkin Donuts For Good Cause

A heavy police presence Friday morning at the Dunkin Donuts in Owensboro was all for a good cause.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Department, Owensboro Police and officers from the Daviess County Detention Center climbed the roof and lowered buckets asking for donations for the Kentucky Special Olympics.

Many people donated spare change,  even some ten dollar bills to help send kids to competitions.

"Well everybody wants to encourage the community to come out and help everyone in need and this is part of the Special Olympics to gain focus on the children and their need to compete," said detective Keith Stiff.

The fundraiser was set to end at noon, but law enforcement said they would stay as long as people kept driving in to donate.

100% of money raised will be sent to Special Olympics.
