Madisonville Man Arrested for Allegedly Forging Counterfeit Money

A Madisonville man has been arrested for allegedly producing a substantial amount of counterfeit money.

Wednesday, the Madisonville Police Department responded to a complaint of counterfeit bills being passed at a local restaurant.

After an investigation, authorities say it was determined that the bills were being produced locally.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence of Wesley J. Allen, 27, of Madisonville.

Police report that a substantial amount of counterfeit bills were recovered, along with the equipment used to produce the fraudulent money.

Allen has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of Forgery 1st Degree and Possession of Forgery Device.

He is currently being held in the Hopkins County Jail.
