Man Accused of Driving Under Influence in Single-Vehicle Crash

An Evansville man is accused of driving under the influence in a single-vehicle crash in Henderson County on Sunday.

Authorities say Jeffery Lucas, 36, was driving a pick-up truck near Green River Rd. and Wolf Hills Rd. when he failed to negotiate a turn.

According to authorities, this caused him to go into a deep ditch embankment striking the ditch head on.

Lucas was transported to the hospital for injuries.

Authorities say Lucas was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, not having an operators license, and failing to wear a seatbelt.
