Man Accused of Giving Juveniles Alcohol, Attempted Rape

An Evansville man is accused of giving a group of juveniles alcohol at his house and attempting to rape one of them.

The juveniles told authorities that 52-year-old Daniel James gave them alcohol on Sunday before allegedly attempting to rape a member of their group who was intoxicated.

James admitted to authorities that he had provided alcohol to a juvenile.

James is a registered sex offender. He was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor in Vanderburgh County in 2009.

He was arrested on a charge of attempted rape and a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both charges are felonies.
