Man accused of theft in connection with $4,500 worth of stolen items

A Henderson County man was arrested Wednesday on a theft charge.

On Tuesday, the Henderson County Sheriff's Department responded to Highway 1078 North in reference to several items reportedly stolen during the day.

The approximately $4,500 worth of items taken included a boat, according to authorities.

On Wednesday, authorities said several of the items were found on Busby Station Rd. at the residence of Brandon Richmond.

According to the sheriff's office, Richmond's girlfriend Christina Sutton showed up while authorities were investigating the incident.

Sutton was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license and improper equipment.

A search warrant was conducted to find the other missing items.

While conducting the search, authorities found Richmond inside the residence.

There were several drug-related items inside the residence, authorities said.

Richmond was arrested and charged with theft, criminal mischief, manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of meth precursors, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
