Man Allegedly Steals More Than $1K from Girl Scouts

Authorities say a man stole more than $1,000 worth of cookie money from Girl Scouts at the Rural King on Morgan Avenue in Evansville.

A mother of one of the Girl Scouts reportedly chased down the thief with the help of another mother.

Police arrested the man and returned the money.

Madalyn Bradley, Director of Marketing and Communications, left a statement regarding the situation:

“On behalf of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana families, we want to thank the Evansville community for stepping up to support the safety of our girls and volunteers. Safety is our top priority and we are thankful to be a part of a community that has always supported Girl Scouting and all it makes possible for girls.”
