Man Arrested Following Police Pursuit

Three police agencies were involved in an overnight pursuit after a driver reportedly refused to pull over during a traffic stop.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, it began just after midnight when a deputy tried to pull over the driver of a truck he says was driving eratically.

Instead of stopping, deputies tell us the driver led them on a chase – at times reaching speeds of 70 mph.

Evansville Police and Indiana State Troopers joined the chase at this point.

After nearly 30 minutes of circling the same streets over and over, we're told the driver, 40-year-old Christopher Monks, was finally stopped on Delaware St.

However, the incident wasn't over yet. Deputies say he tried to run.

That's when a police K-9 got involved and eventually apprehended the driver.

Monks was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail just a couple of hours ago after being treated.
