UPDATE: Men in Lift Acccident Identified

Update: 

The Jasper Police department identified the man who died as Earl Hulsman, 62, of Jasper. 

Police were called to Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium on the report of two people thrown from a boom lift. Police say Hulsman and Kurt Brescher, 60, of Velpen, Indiana, were installing lights at the field. Police believe the men were bringing the boom lift back to the ground, but, for an unknown reason, it tipped over about 40 feet in the air.

Both men were rushed to Memorial Hospital where Hulsman died from his injuries. Brescher's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

 

Original Story:

A man working in a boom lift in Dubois County has been pronounced dead following an accident.

The man, an electrical contractor, was working on a light behind the Jasper High School football field around 11 a.m. CT on Monday.

The boom lift he was in tipped over.

The man was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His identity has not been released at this time.
