Man Sentenced for Role in 2015 Shooting

One of the suspects in an attempted robbery and shooting in Evansville has been sentenced to 69 years in prison.

Thursday, a judge sentenced 21-year-old Jarvice Sears for his role in a 2015 shooting that injured five people.

Investigators said Sears and four other men tried to rob an apartment above the 711 Tavern.

Police said it was targeted because, at the time, the suspects believed drugs and money were inside.

The shootout between the armed robbers and the people in the apartment led to five people getting shot. All survived.
