Mayor's Office Issues Statement on British Company's Acquisition of Mead Johnson

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's office is responding to the announcement that Mead Johnson has been purchased by a British health and hygiene company.

Reckitt Benckiser Group acquired Mead Johnson for $17.9 billion and Mead Johnson will now become a division of that company.

In Evansville, Mead Johnson has about 950 employees.

Here's the statement released by the mayor's office:

“We (Mayor Winnecke and Deputy Mayor Schaefer) have been in contact with local and state economic development officials and reached out to the new ownership to meet face-to-face as soon as possible. The city has a great relationship with Mead Johnson and seeks to continue that dialogue with the new ownership.”
