McKesson Expansion Bringing 100 Jobs to Evansville

One of the top 5 most successful companies in the United States plans to expand with a new office in Downtown Evansville.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke announced Tuesday morning that McKesson Specialty Health will bring 100 jobs to a new office in the Walker Building—the former Welborn Hospital.

The new office will handle the company's oncology billing services.

McKession acquired Vantage Oncology earlier this year which has offices based in Evansville.

The regional director says expanding McKesson's services in the Evansville area was prompted by a number of things, including the IU Medical School.

The Mayor says the company's expansion comes without any incentive using public money.

Officials say the types of jobs that will be created include billing, collections, coders and administrative staff.

The company aims to have 50 people working at the new office by March of next year. The ultimate goal is having 100 employees at the office.
