Mobile food pantry program in the works for western Kentucky

A pilot program involving the Tri-State Food Bank is in the works that would bring a mobile food pantry to parts of western Kentucky.

The food bank is planning on bringing a mobile food pantry program to areas including Daviess and McLean Counties.

Owensboro Health awarded a grant worth nearly $7,000 to fund the program and bring food to people who have limited access to fresh food.

Officials said the program could start as early as next month.

It's expected to run until early next summer.
