Murder Investigation Underway in Madisonville

Shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Madisonville Police Department responded to a call in the 300 block of West Arch Street, in reference to an individual having been stabbed.

Officers found Alex Phebus, 25, conscious and able to give a description of his attacker.

Phebus was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he died from his injuries a short time after his arrival.

After further investigation, authorities determined that Jaleen Spivey, 25, was responsible for Phebus' death.

Spivey has been charged with murder, and is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
