New Indiana high school graduation requirements approved

Indiana state officials approve new requirements for high school graduates.

The State Board of Education voted 7-4 on Wednesday to approve the changes.

Starting in 2023, students will have to complete coursework and demonstrate employability skills through service or work projects. Or students must show college career readiness through one of several measures including the SAT and ACT.

Supporters say the move will ensure students are ready for either college or the workplace.
