New Roundabout Law Coming to IN July 1

Roundabouts are showing up on more Indiana roads.

A new law is changing the way Hoosier drivers maneuver around large trucks in a roundabout.

Starting July 1, drivers will have to yield to semi trucks while driving inside a roundabout.

Indiana lawmakers passed the bill after this past session. Their goal is to make it easier and safer for trucks to exit.

If drivers are caught not giving trucks the right of way, they could get hit with a $500 fine.

The law also impacts truck drivers.

If two are driving side-by-side in a roundabout, the truck on the right must yield to the one on the left.
