Right now, all that's floating in Newburgh's Community Pool is stagnant water. However, town leaders could be submitting grant applications before the end of the year that may help replace the old pool.
Early drawings for a rebuild include a splash pad, a playground, and new shelters.
Town council member Stacie Krieger said fundraising will play a big role in making the project happen.
Krieger hopes a new pool could be open by 2020 but plans are still early.
It could take as much as $6 million to build the entire project.
