Newburgh Woman Dies in Car Crash

WARNING: Pictures May Be Disturbing For Some Viewers

A two-vehicle crash kills one woman in Darmstadt.

The Vanderburgh County Coroners Office and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's office responded to the 13000 block of Darmstadt Road where we are told Christine Long of Newburgh died at the scene.

We are told that Long was traveling southbound on Darmstadt Road in a red Ford Edge when a vehicle driven by Justin Declue of Evansville was driving northbound in a black Toyota Corolla and completely crossed the center line before hitting Long head-on.

Authorities say witnesses reported Declue was seen passing several vehicles in a posted no passing zone.

Deputies confirmed that Declue was not wearing a seatbelt, but Long was.

Authorities say Declue was immediately taken to a hospital where he is being treated for what appear to be life-threatening injuries.

During a follow-up investigation at the hospital, authorities say alcohol appeared to play a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. We will keep you updated.
