OCTC Student Chosen for Online NASA Program

A student at Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) has been selected to participate in the online portion of the 2017 NASA Community College Aerospace Scholar program.

Tyler Ashton is currently enrolled in OCTC's GO FAME program, which is a collaborative program with the Greater Owensboro Federation of Manufacturing Education (GOFAME) chapter.

This is the second time an OCTC student has been selected as a participant in the program.

Ashton was chosen by a selection panel based on his application profile, essay, and a letter of recommendation.

NASA will select participants for a spring workshop program from this course.

OCTC says Ashton found out about the program while presenting at the NASA Southewast Regional Directors Conference in Lexington, Kentucky.
