Ohio County Sheriff's Deputy Charged with Assault

In Ohio County, Kentucky, a sheriff's deputy is now facing charges.

Kentucky State Police arrested Douglas Esther last week.

He is charged with fourth degree assault and menacing.

Troopers say the charges stem from a domestic incident on May 24.

Sheriff Tracy Beatty says Esther has been with the sheriff's office for more than six years.

He was suspended for at least a week and was allowed to return following a pre-trial services evaluation.
