One Person Dead in Diamond Avenue Crash

The victim from Tuesday's two-vehicle collision on Diamond Ave. near St. Joseph Ave. has been identified as 51-year-old Kimberly Redden.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner says the driver died at the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash.

Kevin Eugene Austin, 47, has been identified as the driver who was injured.


Vanderburgh County Sheriff Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

It happened on eastbound Diamond just east of St. Joe.

A vehicle driving westbound crossed the center line and hit another vehicle eastbound head-on.

The driver going eastbound died. The driver going westbound was taken to Deaconess Hospital.

Law enforcement are still investigating why the car crossed lanes.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, east bound Diamond Ave. is blocked at this time and people should avoid the area.
