OVC Tournament leaves economic impact on Evansville

Ford Center in downtown Evansville hosted the Ohio Valley Conference Men and Women's Basketball Tournaments from February 28, to March 3. Officials have not revealed the economic impact the tournaments had on the Evansville community.

Evansville Sports Corporation Executive Director Erin Marvin says the tournaments brought just under $700,000 economic impact. That includes about 2,000 hotel rooms filled.

Marvin says Evansville has submitted a bid to host the OVC Tournaments again for 2019 and 2020. He says a final decision could be announced later in March.
