Hurricane Harvey caused destruction not just to homes but to businesses as well.
One local Evansville business, Painting with a Twist, has locations spread across Texas that are still recovering.
Painting with a Twist brings in groups to create step by step paintings while sipping on their favorite beverage.
The owner tells Eyewitness News that while a few stores have opened in Texas, many are still closed and the artists they employ are still out of work.
In order to give back, today they donated 100% of the proceeds from their painting event to help those artists.
"So, this is not only happening here but this is happening across about 200 studios we have nationwide. It's happening at different times but all the money is going into the same pool and from there we're going to dispose it to our artists we know are affected,” said owner Mihir Paranjape.
Painting with a Twist originally started as a fundraiser to help with Hurricane Katrina aftermath, so giving back is very important to the company.
