The Tell City facility employs around 80 people

The Industrial Process Filtration Division of Parker Hannifin announced that it will be closing its manufacturing facility in Tell City.

The facility at 2002 Main St. in Tell City will have its production transferred to existing Parker facilities in Oxnard, California and Mineral Wells, Texas.

The facility is expected to be closed by the end of September 2018.

Around 80 people are employed by the facility.

The employees are represented by the Chicago and Midwest Joint Board of Workers United, SEIU labor union.

The company said it has reached an agreement with the union regarding the closure.

Following this acquisition, Parker said it had excess manufacturing capacity and redundant capability across both businesses.

Parker also said the decision to close the facility in now way reflects the performance of the employees there.

Parker said it's committed to easing the transition of all its employees including severance pay, re-employment opportunities, and outplacement support.
