Parking Your RV on Evansville City Streets

The Evansville City Council is expected to take up an ordinance that would allow police officers to better enforce some existing city codes.

The proposed changes to the ordinance would allow for better enforcement of non-commercial RV’s, campers and trailers on city streets.

City council president Missy Mosby says the city already has an ordinance on the books that deals with these types of issues, but it just needs to be tweaked and cleaned up.

Under the ordinance, people are still allowed to apply for a permit to park their trailer or RV as long as the board of public safety determines it doesn't present a hazard.

The council meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
