Police Arrest Two on Charges of Possessing Syringes, Paraphernalia

Two women are facing charges after police say they found syringes and other paraphernalia following the search of a vehicle.

Amber Martin and Alicia Lee are accused of possessing paraphernalia and possessing syringes.

Police say the two were arrested after they responded to a report of a parked van in the 1500 block of Jeanette Ave. with people inside allegedly smoking drugs.

When police arrived, they say they found six syringes, and two spoons with residue on one side and burn marks on the other.

Officers say these items are used to prepare and ingest narcotics.

Martin previously was arrested back in August of 2016 for her alleged role in an Evansville shooting where no one was hurt.

Police charged her with assisting Kiyel Langley, who allegedly shot at a man and ditched a gun which police say was later found in a mailbox.

Martin is due in court next week for a hearing related to this charge.
