Public Safety Appreciation Ceremony Being Held Wednesday

The Vanderburgh County Public Safety Foundation is holding a Public Safety Appreciation Ceremony on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The event takes place at Veterans Coliseum.

Theresa Tobin, a New York Police Department officer who saved lives during the attacks of September 11, 2001 will be the keynote speaker.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, City Council President Missy Mosby, County Commission President Bruce Ungetheim, and former Vanderburgh County Sheriff Brad Ellsworth will also be speaking at the event.

The Vanderburgh County Public Safety Foundation plans to award $30,000 in scholarships to 2018 college-bound children of members of the Evansville Fire Department, Vanderburgh County Sheriff Office, Evansville Police Department, Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office, Indiana State Police, and EMS.
