RECALL ALERT: 37-million fire extinguishers being recalled

Extinguishers can become clogged or can fail to activate in an emergency

(WEHT) - The consumer product safety commission is recalling more than 37-million Kidde fire extinguishers.

The commission says the extinguishers can become clogged or can fail to activate in an emergency.

The nozzle can also detach with enough force to be dangerous.

At least one death has been blamed on the faulty extinguishers.

The recall involves more than 140 different devices produced between 1973 and this past September.

This includes models previously recalled in 2009 and 2015.
