Renovations Continue at Historic Evansville Building

A century old building in Downtown Evansville is undergoing a makeover to make it ready for the next 100 years.

Renovations continue on the Caddick Apartments Building that dates back to 1917.

Investor Bob Barber began working on the historic 21,000 square foot building nearly a year ago.

Investing more than a million dollars, he's turning the building into a series of upscale apartment units, featuring 14 one-bedroom units and two four-bedroom units.

Many of those units have great views of the riverfront.

Barber had his eyes on the building for a long time because he always wanted to renovate a historic building downtown.

With the occupancy of downtown living units well above 90% according to a recent study, Barber says the market is there.

Each apartment unit will come with two parking spaces in an adjacent lot.

Barber says the project remains on schedule for a mid-summer completion date.

It will be renamed to Century Place Apartments.
