Restaurant keeps doors open during boil advisory

Evansville's west side is under a boil advisory and restaurants in the area are having to make some changes to keep business going.

The break in the 4700 block of Upper Mount Vernon has been repaired.

Now, crews are testing the water over 24 hours to make sure it's safe to drink.

Until the all clear is given, residents and businesses in the area are being told to boil water.

Through it all, Azzip Pizza has been able to keep their doors open.

The shift manager said so far the advisory isn't disturbing business. It's just more of an annoyance.

The restaurant has followed guidelines from the health department by changing ice in the soda machine and using cans and bottles for soda.

So far, they have purchased 15 gallons of water to use to clean vegetables and make more dough.

Azzip Pizza said the company is aware the boil advisory will be in effect for a few days so it has brought in burners and pots to boil water if there is a short supply of bottled water in the area.
