School district playing it safe after incident

Officials with the Metropolitan School District of North Posey County say they continue to work with investigators about an issue earlier this week.

That according to the MSD North Posey Facebook page.

On Tuesday, North Posey High School and North Posey Junior High were placed under a soft lockdown from about 12:10 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. after it was discovered a student came to school wearing a bulletproof vest.

State police and school officials say no weapons were found on campus and the student was detained by law enforcement.

There has been an increased police presence in the district as a precautionary measure, since the incident occurred.
