Second murder arrest made in connection with body found near Ellis Park

EVANSVILLE (WEHT) - A second arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Donald Freels.

Evansville Police say 23-year-old Zachery Hunter was arrested Tuesday.

Officers say based on information gathered during the investigation, police believe Hunter was with Carolyn Butler when they met with Freels to conduct a drug deal.

Police believe Hunter fired several shots at Freels during the drug deal.

Although his body was found near Ellis Park in Henderson County, police believe Freels was killed in the 1100 block of North 2nd Ave in Evansville.

Hunter is in the Vanderburgh County Jail facing a charge of murder.

EPD says the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
